About Our Percussion Lessons
Percussion Lessons at Maple Music Studios are built on excellence in achievement. Our curriculum is custom-made to fit the needs of each student and their goals. From district and all-state honor band auditions, solos, DCI/WGI, and college auditions, we have the background and expertise to cover it all!
Percussion Class - 45 minutes, tailored toward the beginner-level with a maximum of 5 students per class. Learn drum set basics and mallet percussion through the use of popular songs.
Private Lessons - 30 or 60 minutes
We’re proud of the success our students have demonstrated at the SW Iowa District and IA/NE All-State Honor Band auditions. A student from Maple Music Studios has earned a spot in one of these ensembles each year since 2014!
Alex Albertson is a percussion specialist and has been teaching in the area for over a decade. He is passionate about all styles of percussion - marching, concert, jazz, and world styles. He is the director of Ignis Percussion, Spark Percussion, and regularly performs in pit orchestras as part of Omaha’s Musical Theater scene.
Our percussion lessons at Maple Music Studios are scheduled from end of August to early May. Students are able to enroll at any time throughout the year, as long as there are openings.
During the summer break, students can choose to continue private lessons and/or are encouraged to enroll in a Summer Camp! These camps focus on drumline, mallet percussion, and more!
Each year students are able to participate in Winter and Spring Recitals in both Logan and Omaha. These performances are supportive and low pressure, designed to build confidence! Additionally, each recital features a number of ensemble pieces for students. Giving them a chance to take center stage as a soloist and work as a team in ensembles are core values at Maple Music Studios!
Registration and Tuition
Students can enroll in piano lessons at any time throughout the year.
New Student Registration Fee: $60
The registration fee covers all books and materials. It also includes a studio t-shirt and canvas bag.
Group Lesson Tuition for 2026: $630 ($70 a month)
30 Minute Private Lessons: $1,080 ($120 a month)
60 Minute Private Lessons: $1,800 ($200 a month)
The tuition is split into two semester payments or nine monthly payments from September to May. Families that choose monthly payments are required to enroll in automatic online payments.
Students that join during the year will have their tuition prorated for the remaining lessons.
Students that need to miss a lesson can reach out to Alex or Bennett to see if there is a makeup opportunity available.
No Additional Fees!
There are no additional fees throughout the year. Our recitals are included in tuition and there is no admission charge for these event. Additional materials are also included as needed.
If students choose to enroll in our Summer Camps, there is a registration fee for these optional events.
